August Currently

YAY!!!! I'm finally back on the Currently wagon! I've missed doing these link ups these past couple of months. This summer has been a busy one and I'm excited to hopefully get back into the swing of things and get back to blogging more.

Listening to Jason Mraz on Pandora. LOVING Pandora!!!

Loving my girl time.  My hubby took my boys camping and so right now I am having a Shutterfly night with my friends. While my friends are working on their photo books, I am working on my next TPT unit... which is sickly relaxing for me. :) My computer is the one with the huge binders next to them..

Thinking of work tomorrow. I am one of the Thinking Maps trainers for my school and am presenting it to to my staff tomorrow. I love Thinking Maps and all that you can do with them! Anybody else do Thinking Maps???

Wanting a haircut. I NEED a haircut!!! My hair is long... but getting scraggly. I'm long overdue for a trim.

Needing to finish my classroom. We begin school next week and I'm still finishing up my class. There is still SO much that I want to do.

 BTs Must Haves -

1. I LOVE my 31 bag! It holds EVERYTHING!! If you've never been to a 31 bag party, you gotta go and check out these bags. I'm really not a bag party type of gal, but I really love and believe in these bags.

2. Bright Classroom Decor - I've had the same classroom decor for years now and it's time to switch it up. I've  seen so many  REALLY cute bright classroom decor on TPT and I'm super excited to make over my classroom.

3. I've been downloading many things from TPT and printing them. I just realized that I put copier... but I really meant printer. I've seen some teachers printing and laminating things on their own. I am SO thankful that our school provides this for the teachers.

That's my August Currently friends! School is starting soon so I'm sure that I will be posting more about my busy days. :)

  1. Your blog is too cute! I have been following you on instagram, but some how hadn't linked up to your blog. So I am so glad I saw you on this linky! I am with you on the hair cut- that was on my currently also. I don't know how I left my teacher bag off my list of b2s must haves. I have thought about getting a 31 bag for the last couple of years, but I always talk myself out of it at the last minute. I might have to order one this time.

    1. Thank you for stopping by Katie. I love that you follow me on instagram. Isn't it fun??? A good B2s bag is a must to carry all of our stuff. I think that you will be happy with the 31 bags and find them useful. :) Good luck with the school year.

  2. Hi! I'm Alyssa, your newest follower. Found ya on Farley's Currently linky. I can't believe you're already heading back to school...I have a couple more weeks and am feeling like you - NOT quite ready to go back! I love summer way too much! Good luck w/ your new school year. :)

    1. I knooooow!!!I cannot believe that I start so soon. It's nice getting out at the end of May but going back to school in the August heat in Southern CA is a crime! lol. Thank you for following me. I will be sure to check out your blog, too. What grade do you teach?

  3. I'll be honest, I just Googled "31 bags" to figure out what those were. They seem to be an organized teachers dream! I feel like "teacher bag" should have been on my must-have list too, but I have relied on my teacher bags for so long I don't think about them on my shopping list. I have them stock piled already! And yet there is always room for more...

  4. Thanks for sharing! I found you on the August Currently! I haven't heard of a 31 bag... I will have to look into it. I also need a haircut.
Come and check out my current Currently!

    1. Ohhhh friend, you have to check out the 31 bags. It really has pockets for EVERYTHING... AND they're cute, too! :)

  5. I love that "girl time" photo. I use to go to scrapbooking parties with friends in my late 20's. It was always fun! Now I go to game night, but I go with my Mom's friends. Maybe I need a girls group like yours! LOL.
Reading all these teachers planning for work makes me happy I still have August, but sad because I am job hunting. Good luck with back to school!

    1. I used to go to scrapbooking conventions... SO fun! I love game nights and seriously don't so them enough. I think it's time to plan some. Thanks for stopping by friend. Good luck job hunting!

  6. Ditto on the love for Thirty-One bags! My teacher bag is an Organizing Utility Tote. In fact, I loved them all so much I became a consultant. Now my obsession is even worse!! ;)

    1. Seriously! I was never really a "bag" party type of girl but when I saw people using these and how great they were in organizing EVERYTHING I got some for myself. I LOVE them!! I'm not a consultant but I had a 31 party and got a lot of my teacher friends to purchase the organizing utility bag. I have it and it's awesome!! So glad I have someone to share in my joy on here! :)

My New Life and an Editable First Day of School Sign!

Hi Friends.

This next year I am starting a new chapter of my life. Ever since my kids reached the age where they began going to school, life kept getting busier and busier. Now that they are a bit older (ages 10,8,5) life is just CRAZY; sports, church, dinners on the run, taking kids to different practices, homework, projects, AHHHH!!!! I could not keep up! Last summer, my husband and I both agreed that we could not go on living like that. We did not like running on the hamster wheel. We wanted needed more family time. My husband works different hours than a normal "9 to 5" job so his day off are Fridays. My kids go to school on Fridays. See the problem? We had to make a change. We LOVE my husband's job so that wasn't changing. I LOVE teaching, so that wasn't changing either. We knew we wanted to kids to be home on Fridays so there was only one option. Change the way schooling looked. After 14 years of teaching in the classroom, I am taking a leave of absence to…

Celebration Week!!!

I'm OK. I'm alive!!

Yes, It's been a while since I've blogged. I think it's safe to say that I am just no good at keeping up with my poor little blog. I've come to terms with it. I am no longer in denial. (Holding candle in my hand) Hello, my name is Angela Linzay and I stink at keeping up with my blog.

Alright, now that we that out of the way I feel like we are much closer. :)

I have some very exciting news! This week is special to me for so many reasons. There is MUCH to celebrate....hence the title of this blog..."Celebration Week!" Here are 3 things that I am celebrating this week.

1. I was contacted about a week ago by Teachers Pay Teachers notifying me that I hit a milestone!!!! I began this journey about a year ago and NEVER imagined that I would be at this place at this time. I've truly been blessed and humbled to know that there are MANY amazing teachers out there that chose to spend their hard earned money to purchase my resources. I'…

Five for Friday

It's been a while Friends!

Today I am linking up with Doodle Bugs for her Five for Friday linky party.

I've been working on Depth and Complexity with my students and it has really taken their learning to the next level. Over the past couple of years, I've been going to USC to learn about teaching gifted students from Sandra Kaplan, the creator of Depth and Complexity. The truth is, these strategies work for ALL students and allows them to understand the content much better. My students actually love it!

My 2nd graders working on Depth and Complexity with their story of the week.

We just had Open House not too long ago and it was so much fun! Here are some things from my Open House Unit  on TPT.  I've compiled 19 things over my 15 years of teaching that I love to do. It comes complete with templates and detailed instructions. If you need some new projects for your classroom, I'd love for yo…
